DAY 1: HANOI – MU CANG CHAI – HALF DAY TREKKING: HANG CO VUA VILLAGE TO HUA KHAT VILLAGE
This morning, at around 7:30, our private driver and tour guide will pick you up in Hanoi, and then we drive to Mu Cang Chai for 6,5 hours. You will enjoy the serene countryside along our driving northwest to Yen Bai province. At around noon, lunch is served at a local restaurant on the way. You will arrive in Mu Cang Chai and check in at your Lodge at around 14:30.
This afternoon, we start hiking from Hang Co Vua - a small H'mong village to enjoy terrace fields and conquer the pine forest. When you go on a small road in the forest, you will have the opportunity to look at the forest orchid flowers, hear the birds singing and the occasional squirrel in the trees. After 2 hours of walking, you will encounter villages where the Hua Khat ethnic minority lives in extreme simplicity and lots of wilderness. Indigenous people could not communicate with us because of the language barrier, but they are friendly and welcoming when we visit their homes. Leaving the village of the Hmong people you will be completely surprised to see the valley of terraced fields, which is the mark of human impact on nature in a harmonious way. We can imagine the space carved by the hands of the artists.
You continue to go to Cai Dong – La Khat village and enjoy the picturesque scenery of Mu Cang Chai. The beautiful scene and simple life of the Hmong people are the highlights of your day. Back to the lodge and rest time before your dinner with regional specialties. Over-night in Mu Cang Chai.
