We accidentally found the flowers when wandering around paddy fields near our homestay – Greendoor Ban Gioc, Trung Khanh Cao Bang. According to the locals, soon, right before May, all the flowers will be served as food for pigs.
Since this is not a travel attraction as people often do not know that there will be buckwheat flowers in April, the meadow is empty and you can have an enjoyable time alone there.
This is amazing for those who travel to Vietnam mountains during April but still wish to see its symbolic flower.
Have picnic in the mountain of holy eye
40km from Trung Khanh, the most popular district of Cao Bang, here comes the mountain of holy eyes. This is a gigantic meadow with majestic mountains speading around like pillars.
According to the local people, when the flood season comes, water will fill up all the valleys, making the places a huge lake. Thus, the three months before summer is the best time to visit here.
You can find yourself having a decent picnic on a breezy day in early summer, wandering around on its evergreen ground, refreshing yourself in the nearby stream or watching the sleepy cow eating glasses.
Visit Lenin stream and its enchanting blue water
Lenin stream and Pac Bo cave is a natural complex where Vietnamese communist party used to put in the military base. The beautiful place tells the life of Ho Chi Minh after 30 years of national seclusion.
The water here is in a beautiful blue shade, thanks to a special type of algae.
Whereas you can explore this historial slashes natural attraction through out the year, the water is the most transparent and blue during dry season, due to not being affected by flood season.
Emerge in the beautiful Ban Gioc waterfall
Located in the border of China and Vietnam, Ban Gioc waterfall is what people talk about firstly when they talk about traveling to Cao Bang. It holds the Vietnam – China boundary stone, and is an amazing wonder of nature.
During winter, the waterfall does not have much water. Not until February that the water starts to flow more. Starting from April, there will be plenty of water that will meet up to its name – the 4th – biggest waterfall in the borderline.
